Our Anti Colonial SIMPS Need To STOP

Did Malays teach Romans shipbuilding? Malaysian academic’s claim draws brickbats

Remember our most qualified professor who claims Malays could fly? She's not fading into obscurity—she's thriving. With 160,000 Facebook followers and tickets selling for up to a thousand ringgit for her two-day seminar at Crowne Plaza Hotel, she's turned historical revisionism into a profitable enterprise.

But this isn't just about one professor's questionable claims. It's about understanding the ecosystem of anti-colonial simps who enable this kind of content, who pay good money to be told comforting lies about their heritage while their actual culture gets systematically eroded by the very people claiming to preserve it.

These anti-colonial warriors spend their days posting about how amazing their civilization was, how Malays had precognition and superior martial arts, how everything wrong in their lives traces back to colonialism.

They claim to be the most merdeka while letting colonizers who left decades ago live rent-free in their heads every single day. The irony is devastating: they talk endlessly about decolonization while colonizing their own minds with pseudo-historical narratives that make them feel validated rather than informed.

They don't want to learn history—they want to nurse inferiority complexes that aren't even justified in the first place. What matters isn't the mythologized achievements of anonymous people from thousands of years ago, but what you do with your life right now. Real independence doesn't come from paying influencers to tell you comfortable stories or from blaming every failure on historical grievances.

It comes from building genuine self-confidence, pursuing truth over flattery, and focusing on your present and future rather than distorting the past to feel better about today.

That's how you actually become decolonized and mandiri—not by simping after fast-talking professors selling tickets to validation seminars.
