Analysis: Has Anwar lost touch with reality on the ground? By Lee Way Loon

Flipping The Bird, after all the BS

Malaysiakini : ANALYSIS | On Dec 7, one week after Pakatan Harapan's crushing defeat in the Sabah election, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim launched his new book at an upscale bookstore in Kuala Lumpur.

The book, titled “Rethinking Ourselves: Justice, Reform and Ignorance in the Post-Normal Times”, is dedicated to his wife, former deputy prime minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and he announced that all royalties would be donated to underprivileged students.

This should have been a heartwarming story, but in the current political climate, it felt particularly jarring. It makes Anwar appear out of touch - even angering some Harapan members.

The day before, Anwar had returned to Kota Kinabalu to attend an official event with Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor, publicly thanking Hajiji's government for its friendship and cooperation.

Hassan : Anwar thinks the Chinese are angry at him for giving money to Palestine Can you blame them? The Chinese are the ones paying the money He takes their money and gives it to foreigners...while discriminating against the Chinese.

Of course they would be upset. Malaysia has 2 main sources of wealth: 1. Oil from the ground 2. The Chinese These 2 things feed the MMs. MMs thank Allah for the oil. But they hate the Chinese.

HangTuahPJ : He is evil. ' Anwar mentioned at the dinner that Chinese Malaysians were unhappy about excessive government aid to Palestine' is meant to instigate Malay against the NMs and create an image of himself as being a holy muslim.

Know the term 'tunggang agama' ? what kind of a PM creates such animosity amongst his rakyat? He is burning Malaysia to the ground with his theatrics.

franklyspeaking : The non-Malays tend to be pragmatic people: they make an honest living, avoid confrontation, and mind their own business. However, they have long been frustrated by issues such as incompetence, lack of integrity, and corruption in public administration.

They also grapple with bureaucratic red tape and unfair education policies, including quotas, scholarships, grants and the non-recognition of the UEC. Additionally, the slow progress or failure of promised institutional and educational reforms further adds to their frustrations.

Policies that negatively affect livelihoods and businesses, along with religious bigotry, ineffective ministers and MPs, inconsistent enforcement of the rule of law, and hooliganism or a lack of intelligence in parliamentary debates, exacerbate these concerns.

Figures like the Akmals and Firdauses, among others, intensify these feelings of frustration and insult. The current thinking that the non-Malays have no better alternative, and therefore their issues and concerns can be brushed off or ignored, is unwise. PMX and the UG should take care of the non-Malays as well as the Malays to ensure a double win during the next GE.

Take care of your existing voter bases instead of appeasing the demands of the opposition voters, which has angered the loyal voters, especially the non-Malays, and the urban and progressive Malays.
