Malaysiakini : Two lawyers have taken Malacca police chief Dzulkhairi Mukhtar to task over his recent comments on public attire when lodging reports at police stations.
In a strongly worded statement, Rajesh Nagarajan and Sachpreetraj Singh Sohanpal said Dzulkhairi (above) “has no business commenting on people’s clothing” when his department is facing unresolved claims of misconduct.
They also accused him of focusing on “non-issues” while remaining silent on serious allegations involving the fatal shooting of three men in Durian Tunggal.
“Where is his outrage for this? Where is his response to this?” asked the lawyers who form part of the legal team representing families of the three victims, who they alleged were murdered by police officers.
The duo also pointed out that Dzulkhairi had, during a Nov 24 press conference, presented a narrative which the families claim contradicts their own evidence.
OrangeJaguar9341 : Preparing robes is the solution??? This isn't some extremist country, Prof. It's a multicultural, multi-religious, multilingual country where every citizen should have equal rights.
Neutral Point : Look at PMX, he just ignore the issue. Dress code has been a long standing issue effecting the non Malay and Madani government is not doing anything to stop this issue. It is time to change and kick him out before his cronies and family control the entire party and country.
PW Cheng : Sorry professor, I beg to differ with your proposal of providing robes for those who are deemed to be not properly attired when visiting police stations or for that matter any govt depts. You are just feeding them with ideas to come up with more absurd demands.
If your proposals sticks , they will come up with more absurd sops by stating that all non Malay females must wear a scarf or tudong to visit any govt depts. Then you will propose for them to keep some scarfs.
Next they say you cannot wear short sleeve and then u keep some long sleeves attire of various sizes. When and where will all these end. If all these Malay Govt servants are so morally upright, then there will be no corruptions in the civil service.
But instead corruptions prolifirate in all govt depts and involves from top to bottom. Its obvious that these sanctimonious demands are just pure hypocrisy that stinks to high heaven. And preety obvious that all these rules are there to exhibit the Malays supremacy and to itimidate the non Malays.
As i myself had personally encounter with all the absurd demands (when i was there in one of the govt depts to seek some services) which "langsung tak masuk akal". In fact you as a moderate Malay which i hope you are, please tell them its their constitutional duty to serve the public to the best of their abilities and not come up with absurd demands which infringe on the constitutional rights of the people.
After all they are being paid by taxes from the rakyat. Thats why they are called Govt servants and to serve the rakyat honestly and diligently.
Anon2000 : In most other countries, the murder will be an open and shut case. But with people like Dzulkhairi in senior positions, this will probably be yet another NFA. Anwar should sack Dzulkhairi.
GalaxyM : Who is to blame for the undesirable image of the PDRM? Probably the cause is the 60 over years of pampering and favouring one race and one religion policy that has brought about their ineptitude and inefficiency.
Another factor could be the lousy education system that has produced a whole lot of civil servants who don't work conscientiously. They are generally lazy and clock watchers forever anticipating higher pay like bonus but never work hard.
Some with given power resort to bribery and corruption. This scenario is open secret and it does tell everyone why the country is worse than the tiny city state in the south.
Asam Pedas : But thats too hard and requires real work. Bullying non-Malays is easier and makes the police feel good about it and to boast as achievement.
BluePanther4725 : Our Police Force is more interested in becoming religious and moral police instead of fighting crime. Our Police Force is a waste of taxpayers money.
Read it all here.......People are struggling but these civil servants are playing with their job while expecting good pay rise every year. The Police Force needs urgent reform and it should start by sacking the incompetent IGP and Home Minister first. This country and government is a a joke!
