OrangeJaguar9341 : Absolutely brilliant article. Well argued, grounded in facts, with great suggestions. A huge problem non-Islamic religions face is land to build their places of worship. 

Even when land is designated for "other religions", it is almost always converted into land for suraus and mosques. Insisting that the area must have a majority population of Buddhists or Christians or Hindus before allocating land for temples or churches is unreasonable given our demographics. 

Sadly, Malaysia has always been a country that discriminated along race and religious lines. But this has become exponentially worse since the 90's. Where are the legal, institutional, and social measures designed to safeguard the existence, identity, and rights of minority ethnic and religious groups in the country? 

Only the dominant group is priviledged and protected, when it is the minority that need protection. Who is championing the minority population in a country that is increasingly divided, with bullies, chauvinists and bigots running riot with impunity?

apanama is back : As long as Anwar NEVER accept Malaysia as a secular country, he is not suit to be given second term. As for this temple rally and the arrest of Vinoth, it is merely a 'sandiwara'. 

Most us of know Anwar is not consistent when it comes to minorities' right. Yes, Modi should have stay longer for the Malaysian Indians. Modi and Jaishankar knew Anwar's true colour. 

A worse 'sandiwara' actor. After the expiration of the two days remand, the bigot will be out, keep quiet for short while and again will go after the Hindu temples.

WhiteParrot9879 : ZV and FW are infants viv a vis knowledge in their new religion but they wear jubbah like a learmed ustaz and preach albeit inaccurate information of their former religions and glorifying their newly adopted faith. 

If the authorities do not stop then in the bud it may then be too late. Same thing happened with ZN when he became overly powerful and dictating terms when he himself is a fugitive in his home country and he ran away when he was about to be charged with serious offences involving security. 

He claims he would not get a fair trial in India when it is everybody's knowledge that the rules of law is very vibrant there. These are to me worrying matters which must be attended to promptly. 

The input by commentators as to how the government could work on to resolve the matter is welcome. Some amendments could be made to the NLC and state enactment but there must be political will.

Just Common Sense : Calling unregistered temples 'haram' is being deliberately offensive and insulting considering the other things the word 'haram' is associated with by muslims. Such imbeciles should be thrown into prison with maximum prejudice.
