Malaysiakini: “I think that the offer for a position on a statutory board to SKudai assemblyperson Marina Ibrahim was made with good intentions by Johor DAP chief Teo Nie Ching. This is a way to ensure that someone like Marina continues to serve the people of Johor and Malaysia in a different capacity.”
- former Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming
COMMENT | The quote that opens this piece is further evidence of how fetid the swamp is.
Forget the hypocrisy of the statement, but the causal manner in which it is delivered is demonstrative of how self-serving politicians are and, of course, how subservient they think their base should be.
Rational Malaysians have to ask, what is in it for us? All politics are local and a trade-off. So, a politician gets his or her fat cat governmental job and the rakyat are supposed to get something in return.
We want the bare minimum
Kajang pigeon : My advice to the 5th and 6th generation of NM is simple: if your children get a real opportunity overseas, pack the bags, print the tickets, and wave like you’re sending them to Hogwarts. After 60-plus years of independence, the view from our seats is not exactly inspiring.
On one side, we have the self-appointed gatekeepers of heaven, still milking old narratives, handing out more crutches, and forming little exclusive clubs like they’re auditioning for a low-budget historical villain documentary.
Children are still being blocked from opportunities. Mediocrity is climbing corporate ladders with the confidence of a lizard on a curtain. History and archaeology are being stepped on, rewritten, and repackaged like expired nasi lemak with a new label.
Religion is apparently “free” but only if you don’t read the fine print. And the worst part is, everyone is expected to clap politely while pretending this is progress. So yes, send the kids where talent matters more than surname, effort matters more than quota, and the future doesn’t look like it was designed by a committee of confused dinosaurs.
Read it all here........Because looking at the whole situation honestly, hope is starting to feel less like a national plan and more like a rumour someone forwarded on WhatsApp.
